Houses For Rent In Palmer and Wasilla November 24th, 2010
Way back in October 2007 I wrote about rentals in Palmer and Wasilla on my other blog, valleymarket.com. I think it’s time for an update. It is common for me to get calls asking if I handle rentals…I don’t.
Here are my tips for finding a rental in the area:
1. Check with the local property managers.
Here are three…
Charlene Moss, she handles the most rentals, 373-8161
Traci Brewington at Prudential, 376-2414
Dawn Houston at Double Eagle, 357-1770
2. Check craigslist, you will find almost all the owner rentals on craigslist.
If you need to buy or sell in Palmer and Wasilla, I can help you with that. Drop me a line by clicking on the contact button or give me a call at
(907) 232-7900.
Or, if you would rather do your own search on the MLS, just go my search page.

2010 Summer Youth Band June 24th, 2010
This morning I drove into the Palmer Post Office parking lot and was pleased to discover a live concert by the Palmer Summer Youth Band.
The band is sponsored by the Palmer Arts Council and meets for weekly rehearsals throughout the summer. Middle and high school youth from Valley schools are under the direction of Matt Swalling, the music director at Palmer Junior Middle School.
The students played exceptionally well and I thoroughly enjoyed the music. I was told they are playing the next two Fridays at the downtown Friday Fling. Come out and listen!
Palmer’s Friday Flings 2010 June 24th, 2010
Need something to do on Fridays between 11AM and 4PM? Love to support local artists, farmers and businesses? Searching for the perfect Alaskan gift for somebody? Come down to the Friday Fling on the park strip in front of Palmer Visitors Center!
You will find things for the entire family. Handmade wooden toys, fragrant flowers and delicious vegetables, beautiful handmade jewelry, fashionable clothing of all sizes, crafts, artwork from Valley artists and much much more!
Hungry? The Husky Burger has savory burgers and side dishes. Other booths offer fresh Valley-Grown produce, ice cream, hot dogs, fresh breads, and cotton candy and kettle corn made right in front of you!
Looking for laughs? Stop by the Tundra Comic booth! Chad Carpenter’s witty humor has put numerous Alaskans in stitches and is now spreading like wildfire in the Lower 48!
You can hear local or traveling musicians playing, meet Palmeranians you haven’t seen in a while or just stroll down and enjoy Valley Artists artwork.
Wi-Fi in Palmer! June 21st, 2010
Radio Free Palmer sponsors the RadioFreePalmer internet connection around downtown Palmer. You can connect to it from Vagabond Blues and the area around the Palmer Train Depot. Vagabond blues also has an internet connection through MTA. If you are an MTA member you can connect with your username and password, otherwise you can pay using a credit card.
The AT&T Sports Center offers free wi-fi through AT&T. You can connect from anywhere in the center. There’s a snack bar up the stairs to the right as you enter. It’s a great place to set up your laptop and surf the net.
Palmer Dairy Queen also has free wi-fi. You can sit down, enjoy some delicious ice cream and check your email on your laptop!
If you know of any other wifi connections here in Palmer, please leave a comment and I’ll be sure to add them!
