Someday I hope to get to Palmer. I am writing a book on my family history. John Bugge, Palmer's first settler was my great uncle. He settled on Palmer land in 1914. He was quite a character, but an amazing guy, as I've learned with the help of members of the Palmer historical community. Too bad his cabin didn't survive. Though rustic, it could have taught about the hardships of taming the wilderness and helping to prepare for the eventual colonization.
